FAQ

I’m interested in getting a puppy from you but I don’t know where to start. What should I do?

Apply! Our application is non-binding and includes a phone call with Angela, our owner. During that call Angela will ask you about yourself and tell you all about our program and dogs. It’s a great time to ask any questions you may have and gain a full understanding of the process of adopting with us before making a concrete decision. If both parties are comfortable moving forward after the phone call, you will be added to our waiting list.

Do I pick out my puppy or am I matched with one?

At 8 weeks old we match our puppies to their forever families, taking into consideration temperament, energy levels, size, and other factors, including your preferences. We want all of our dogs to be happy, loved and properly cared for, so preferences like color and gender may take a backseat to more important compatibility factors. Our clients do not pick which puppy they take home, so we ask that you keep an open mind as to which puppy becomes your newest family member.

Can I choose which litter my puppy comes from?

Yes. Once you are on our waiting list we will contact you when we are expecting puppies. If you specified particular size or lineage preferences in your application, we will contact you when a litter matches those preferences. You can choose to either join the litter we offer or wait for another.

At what age do your puppies go home?

Our puppies are ready to go home at 9 weeks old. Although 8 weeks is a common age for breeders to send their puppies home, scientific research shows that it’s best for puppies to stay with their littermates until 9-10 weeks of age. Staying with their littermates longer provides valuable socialization that positively contributes to lifelong skills. Sending our puppies home at 9 weeks also ensures your puppy is past a common fear period that presents at 8 weeks.
